Shrapnel dug into the skin of his cheeks, leaving lines of crimson blood dripping down his porcelain features; eyes rimmed red from the tears that didn’t quite merge.
Mouth slightly parted as his thoughts remained locked in a frenzy of emotions, screams echoing noiselessly and mortified cries silent.
